You’re tired of feeling overwhelmed with anxiety and self-doubt.
You don’t want the past constantly coming up in your current life.
If this sounds like you, therapy would likely make significant changes in your life.
Hi, I’m Brooke Vierra, LMFT.
You have gotten to this point because…
You are ready to finally start living a life free from constant feelings of overwhelm, overthinking and worry, self-doubt or self-criticism, and difficulty enjoying the things and people you love.
You are done having past upsetting memories haunt you and you want to be present in your current life again.
You want to wake up feeling happy and confident in your ability to cope well with emotions or challenges that may arise that day.
I am a licensed therapist (LMFT) specializing in helping adults break cycles of anxiety, improve self-compassion, and overcome traumatic or upsetting events that have impacted their sense of self-worth and ability to be fully present in their current life.
I want to help you build a toolkit of ways to cope with intense emotions and take charge of your life, building back enjoyment into your day

Have you ever noticed yourself stuck in a cycle similar to this?
You think, “things are not going to get better,” you feel discouraged, and so you don’t try, which leads to no change and more discouragement.
Maybe you think, “I can’t rely on anyone else or trust others to be there for me,” you feel alone and helpless, you never ask for help, and then you feel even more isolated and overwhelmed.”
If you notice patterns like this, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can help you identify how your thoughts, feelings, and behavior connect and are keeping you stuck in a negative cycle.Thankfully, we can break this cycle and get you noticing an upward spiral again.

If you struggle to decrease or cope with big emotions, can’t seem to communicate your feelings and needs to other, feel overwhelmed by emotion, or maybe engage in behaviors that unintentionally make the problems worse, a therapy referred to as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) may be useful to you!
I am extensively trained in this evidenced based treatment. Here, we work to increase your ability to regulate emotions, improve your ability to build healthy relationships, and begin to practice being purposefully present in your daily life.
-
I will also aim to increase your ability to utilize self-compassion more consistently because I believe the way you speak to yourself and treat yourself is a fundamental piece of healing.
Visit my self-compassion based therapy page for more information.

If you have experienced traumatic events in your life and are having difficulty healing from these,
I am also extensively trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy for Trauma survivors.
Here, we work to identify ways trauma has impacted your life and the patterns that keep you stuck from healing.

Exposure therapy is an evidenced-based treatment for anxiety when avoidance of anxiety provoking events is a concern that keeps you trapped in the anxiety cycle.
Here, we identify what you would be doing if anxiety was not present and we form a plan to get these things back in to your life!We do this slowly and work our way up. We find ways to help you self-soothe and calm your anxiety so you feel empowered and confident in managing these anxiety provoking events.

I graduated with my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. I began working in a nonprofit agency treating children and adults, with focus on Trauma-Related Disorders and Depressive Disorders.
I later began my career at Kaiser Permanente working with adults. My work at Kaiser Permanente consisted of treatment for a wide range of mental health concerns, but my primary focus included individual and group therapy for Anxiety Disorders and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
